First Walking Club

Hotel

Thanks to everyone who came and hopefully enjoyed our first Walking club walk on Saturday. We met at the Portobello Hotel and Bar. The weather was cold but thankfully the rain held off for our walk.

We headed down the canal towards city centre at a steady pace. We stopped off to have a look at the statue of Patrick Kavanagh and also to wonder at the graffiti at the top of the Bolands Mill. How on earth did people get to the top of it.

We saw the studios that U2 record at and then went around by the Canal locks where the canal meets the Liffey by the Waterways Ireland headquaters. Crossing over to Irishtown to see the Aviva Stadium from another perspective.

We finished off the walk with a coffee and cake at KC Peaches. They had three kinds of hot chocolate! YUM!

I’m already looking forward to next month for our next walk when we check out the parks in city centre.
